DURATION UTI

Impact of duration of antibiotic treatment on symptoms, recovery and antibiotic resistance in adult women with urinary tract infections (UTIs): a randomised controlled trial.

This research aims to find the shortest antibiotic treatment duration needed to effectively treat urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women. We will also examine the impact of each antibiotic and treatment duration on antibiotic resistance in bacteria found in the patient’s urine.

OPTIMISE2

Optimising Treatment for Mild Hypertension in Older People at Risk of Adverse Events.

The OPTIMISE 2 trial will establish whether deprescribing common drugs that lower blood pressure is safe or effective in older people in the longer term (a year or more).
